August 8, 2013:

The slides of Marja van den Heuvel-Panhuizen (Reaction to the Plenary of Doug Clarke) are available here (pdf).

We created a download-area for PME-related materials.
You need the following access information:
User: PME
Password: {City of PME 35}

There you can access e.g. a selection of images (zip, 1,03 GB) or the contribution of a German radio station (mp3, German only) that talked to the chairs (Aiso Heinze and Anke Lindmeier) as well as the president and secretary of PME (Joao Filipe Matos and Stefan Ufer). A short TV report (mp4, German only) is provided as well as the report of the local newspaper (pdf, German only).

August 6, 2013:

The TV reported about PME 37 and talked with our co-chair Anke Lindmeier about mathematics learning.

We will prepare a download area for the conference photos and related material. It takes some more days.

August 2, 2013:

And all of a sudden, the conference is already over. If you are interested in buying the proceedings, here is information about the Print-on-Demand Proceedings.

July 28, 2013:

The conference started. A warm welcome to all participants from all over the world!!

July 22, 2013:

We prepared a short two-page travel information for all participants arriving at Hamburg Airport.

July 19, 2013:

The printed proceedings and the USB flash drives were delivered today. This week, the order for food and beverages for the opening reception and the conference dinner was finalized and the preparation for the excursions was finished. All the material for the conference participants was prepared and put into the conference bags. Nevertheless, there are still numerous small things to do, in particular the preparaton of the conference buildings, but we are confident that everything will run smoothly.

July 12, 2013:

Today, the program booklet was sent to the print shop.

July 8, 2013:

The proceedings are ready and in the process of printing. As decided during the AGM 2012, the PME Secretary prepared a print-on-demand version which can be ordered online. Conference participants who already ordered a printed version in ConfTool will get the five volumes at the registration desk. Moreover, all participants will get an electronic version of the proceedings.

June 27, 2013:

A first version of the scientific program is available.

June 19, 2013:

Accommodation: There were not enough bookings for the rooms in the convention centre "Sparkassenakademie" (only seven bookings). Since we did not reach the minimum number of guests, the owner will not open the convention center for us. Instead he will organize hotel rooms for the seven colleagues. We will contact the colleagues in the next days.

June 17, 2013:

The conference organization keeps us busy. The preparation of the proceedings is almost finished. Don't forget to send us information about special equipment or special food requirements until June 30 (if this is relevant for you). Please note that the deadline for a "regular" cancellation is over. This reduces our financial risks and we can start to sign binding contracts with the companies we need for the catering, excursions etc.

May 18, 2013:

The phase for the regular conference registration is over. A registration for the conference via ConfTool is still possible as late registration. Until today, exactly 600 colleagues registered for PME 37.

May 15, 2013:

Please take care for your accommodation booking. The hotel contingents and the guaranteed room rates are limited in time. There are different deadlines for the hotels which you find by clicking on the  "booking information" links on this website. After the deadline, you may still find free rooms in the hotels but the room rates can be different.

April 29, 2013:

A new hotel opened in Kiel: The B&B Hotel Kiel near the train station offers a contigent of 30 rooms for PME 37. Please check the hotel list.

April 16, 2013:

The final registration is open. All pre-registered participants who paid the conference deposit got a personal pre-registration code by email. This code is necessary to reduce the final registration fee by the already paid conference deposit during the registration process in ConfTool.

We published the Second Announcement which contains all necessary information about the conference. On this website, you find some additional information about the Discussion Groups and Working Sessions.

April 15, 2013:

The registration for PME 37 will be opened tomorrow on April 16, 2013. We are sorry for this unexpected delay.

April 10, 2013:

Currently, we prepare the Second Announcement, the website and ConfTool for the final registration. We plan to open the final registration on April 15, 2013. Please note that after May 16, 2013 only a late registration is possible (with an additional fee and without printed proceedings). You can find the tentative program schedule in the program section.

April 9, 2013:

The review results are online. All authors and co-authors with accepted proposals find in their ConfTool account a specific invitation letter which mentions the acceptance of their proposal. For authors who are encouraged to resubmit their RR proposal as SO or PP, this letter will created by ConfTool after the resubmission.

April 2-5, 2013:

The second meeting of the International Program Committee (IPC) took place in Kiel. The IPC checked the current state of the conference organization (budget, venue, catering, etc.). Moreover, the IPC members made decisions on the basis of the RR reviews and they reviewed the SO, PP, DG and WS proposals.

During the weekend April 6-7 the information about all decisions will be included into ConfTool. We plan to publish the information on Monday, April 8.

March 6, 2013:

The second phase of the review process started. Reviews are due to March 22. Decisions about the acceptance of the proposals will be made by the International Program Committee (IPC) during the 2nd IPC meeting. Results will be made available in ConfTool in the week April 8-12, 2013.

March 2, 2013:

The submission for SO, PP, DG and WS proposals is closed. We received 200 Short Oral Communication, 74 Poster Presentation, 12 Discussion Group and 3 Working Session proposals. Meanwhile, 686 colleagues from 54 countries pre-registered. PME 37 will become a large conference.
